Recovery is not an objective or universal concept; it is entirely dependent on your own personal context. In a way, we are all recovering from something, whether it is an addiction, a broken bone, or a relationship, but the one thing that all recoveries have in common is that it is a process.
NO MATTER HOW BADLY WE WANT TO RECOVER OVERNIGHT, SKIPPING STEPS IN THE PROCESS WILL LEAD TO A TEMPORARY SOLUTION BUT NOT A FULL RECOVERY.
Everyone goes through a different process of recovery:
Your feelings and concerns are valid; an important aspect of recovering is accepting that there is something to recover from.
Baby steps; it can be frustrating to have to work on something that seems so simple but it is worth it to invest the time into yourself.
Do not be afraid to ask for help: a support system of any kind is a necessary component of recovery.
Listen to yourself: whether your recovery is emotional, mental or physical it is important to listen to the signals that your body or mind is trying to send you.
Do not dwell on the negative: everything happens for a reason, as difficult as it can be to look for a silver lining in a tough recovery it is important to trust the universe.
Recovery is a learning process, whether you are learning how to walk, how to love, or how to simply improve your life. Everything worthwhile is created through a process.

Before you teach yourself how to walk again, you have to learn how to stand on your own two feet, you have to learn how to step over obstacles that might get in your way without falling back down, and eventually you’ll learn how to run or even dance – but even when you’re dancing, never let yourself forget how you taught yourself to stand back up.
